Post Surgery

It's good to be home resting.  I finally get some unterrupted sleep.  My pain level isn't as bad as I had expected it to be.  I never requested pain meds (except Tylenol for my headache).  Don't get me wrong, I'm not pain free, but it's managable.  Which is good considering classes for me start Monday.

Anyway, the preliminary pathology results did not show any cancerous cells but they won't know for sure until next week after they finish their testing.  This is comforting so far.  They did say it looked like classic case Hashimoto's Thyroiditist.  Which is confusing to me since I don't carry antibodies for that or Graves disease.  I guess I have my first question when I see  one of my three doctors for my follow up.

Physically I'm ok.  I do have some difficulty breathing if I get up and walk around and I do have issues with swollowing much (because of the intubation).  I'm on a soft food diet but I haven't really been hungry for very much.  I'm not allowed to lift anything over 5lbs for a week or drive for a week.

Mentally, I'm fine.  Just a little sad that I can't pick up my little girl, but I know it's only temporary.  I can still hold her and interact with her so it's not a total dissapointment.  The way she lights up when she sees me just melts my heart.
